Trot Kind

Trot Kind: Give a nod and help fellow trail users feel welcome.

Create a culture of kindness on the trails; kindness to the wildlife, kindness to fellow trail users, and kindness to the trail itself.

  • Trot Considerate: Fellow trail users may not know what to do when encountering a horse. Don’t be afraid to say ‘hi’, and communicate what you’d like them to do as you pass.

  • Trot Aware: Know the trail requirements—where to park trailers and where you’re allowed to ride.

  • Trot No Trace: When using a public area, be considerate of other users and clean up manure. Always pack out trash with you and stay on designated routes.

  • Trot Safe: Only ride on public trails if you know you have full control of your horse.

  • Trot Prepared: Always be prepared for changing weather and emergencies and know conditions, water crossings etc.
